PULP is a collection of vessels made entirely from paper waste by Studio Jo Meesters. The Dutch designer re-uses discarded vessels as his mold, then adds epoxy and polyurethane into the pulp mixture to make objects that can hold water.

Hannah Lobley developed the idea for her ‘Paperwork’ line after leaving a book out in the rain. The designer uses a unique recycling method to create blocks of wood-like material from unwanted paper such as catalogs, holiday cards and yellow pages. Using traditional wood working equipment she then transforms the blocks into handcrafted, one-of-a-kind objects.

Kristen Hassenfeld: Dans la Lune

Artist Kristen Hassenfeld has a new exhibit at the Rice Gallery in Houston. In ‘Dans la Lune’, which loosely translated means “dopey, drugged – daydreaming”, Hassenfeld has once again transformed paper into a wonderland of translucent sculptures. For this exhibit she created four to eight foot structures, including gigantic droplets and onion domes adorned with jewels, chains and honeycomb beads.
